There's a lively attention to the urban public spaces, meant as networked laboratories on communication and as places where the information flows around the moving people. What systematically happens in the public and visible transmission processes is the identifying of physical presence and their revealing. Actually the information tele/transmitted by the individuals, become intermediaries that connect spaces, and in this way the spaces themselves are experienced and manipulated. This 'performance of spaces' are based on the mediation of the distance amongst different points, restricted to a limited space of a city or a part of it. The vast non-places where people is in transit, strictly connected to the flux of people movements, are the stage of these actions. This text, that expanded the homonymous conference papers, held at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, even if based on a pure architectural background, it's broad-minded, analyzing the active elements' scanning in the public spaces, and a more general enhancing of the personal transmissions. The historical 'nomad architecture' movements' visions are glimpsed now in the antagonistic media practices, that exploit the crowded places and the omnipresent media, to rewrite the game rules.
