Rf - Views of Distant Towns

Rf, Views of Distant Towns, Plop, Microsuoni, rf_viewsofdistanttowns.jpg CD - Plop / Microsuoni
Strongly melodic acrobatics, field recordings and digital sounds, juxtaposed with vocal parts often evocative in nature, a vivid mix of a sensitivity with a penchant for organic instrumentation. Very dilated compositions, these by Ryan Francesconi, a multi-instrumentalist born in California, the result of a tangled emotional elaboration incorporating glitch instincts and skilled technique, cinematic sequences and ambient rarefactions. Hyper-contemporary melancholy, inspired by a Japan tour for the label Plop, magic in its languid guitar touches, in its artfully generated blocks, in its rough rhythm scans, never banal. Atmospheres, minimalism and poetry: what else could we want from new electronica?
