CD - Acidsoxx Musicks
Max Data, Herr Doktor, Henri Berg and Mooz, these are the Crash Test Taurus, an ensemble based in Orléans (France). In this debut album they finely mix electronic experiments influenced by abstract and trip hop elaborations. Consolidated sounds which are nonetheless still interesting when the composition becomes complex and almost completely detached from the original contexts. The cross-references and the exotic sounds (almost post-rock, if it wasn't for the tight and syncopated rhythmic parts) mixed with iterated melodies and narrative vocal fragments are developed with mastery, showing grace and attitude in the patterns. Overall, a remarkable production lacking a bit of structure to shine.
