Clause Four - Blue On Blue

Clause Four, Blue On Blue, Dc Recordings, downtempo, experimental, dub, soul, rhythm and blues, hip hop, retro-funk, minimal, Hackney, London, groove, Nancy Elizabeth Cunliffe, lounge, Tom Giles, Aurelio Cianciotta, clausefour_blueonblue.jpg CD - Dc Recordings
Skillfully diluted sequences between dub, soul, rhythm'n'blues and hip-hop, with vintage influences in a mix of 8-bit electronics, lovely in its futurist retro-funk that marries groove with playful cyber suggestions. Very simple but vivid articulations, minimal and sensitive, thanks especially to Nancy Elizabeth Cunliffe's measured voice, the original singer and, in the track number five, 'Walking', captivating in its destructured lounge that evolves to syncopated rhythms and fascinating, and a bit disquieting, atmospheres. Tom Giles, the real name behind the Clause Four moniker, comes from Hackney, a London neighborhood that you wouldn't think it could produce these kinds of gentle sounds, proving that the digital revolution has been intimately metabolized.
Aurelio Cianciotta
