With the 'Uusitalo' nickname, Vladislav Delay agitates a refined mix of dub and minimal techno influences in a superb production characterized by crystal-clear sounds and crisp 4/4 beats, seasoned with oblique glitch and click'n'cut sounds. An artist with many facets, Sasu Ripatti (this is his real name, hidden behind his other moniker 'Luomo') is skilled in delineating parallel inspirations, within and without genre rules. This is his second 'bass drum oriented' album, and this time he's chosen to use only analog instruments, forgoing any digital manipulation. The end result, while still being technoid, is an alluring and more 'humane' electronic music.
