Elegant cinematic and orchestral movements, made using both acoustic and digital instruments, are unraveled in rarefied and narrative structures and juxtaposed with melancholic, anxious sequences by Philippe Petit. The artist has carefully coordinated an eclectic group of musicians, artists and sound-experimenters who are connected to different styles, though related by their familiarity with what is still defined as free-form improvisation or free-composition. The "cinematographic" interpretation seems to be confirmed by the project title, "A Scent Of Garambrosia" a Lynchian quotation that refers to the "pain and suffering that is experienced"; a kind of hybrid panacea, halfway between nectar and drug, a relief for human agony subjected to the divine spells of human existence. There are seven tracks which explain the fascinating story, full of introspective sequences, rhythmic emergencies and dreamlike passages, upon which are also grafted field recordings and electronic melodies. A mixture to be handled with care; precious and intangible.
